BG-Spotter

Find picture edits and build a clean AAF with separate track pairs for the overlap lengths you choose.

Version 2.1.0 · macOS only

Spend less time spotting edits by hand.

BG-Spotter analyzes a video file, finds the edit points, and creates an AAF with alternating regions of consolidated silence.

Select straight edits or any combination of one- through six-frame overlaps. Each selection creates its own pair of alternating tracks using the same detected edit points. For example, selecting 1-frame and 4-frame overlaps exports four tracks: two for the 1-frame overlaps and two for the 4-frame overlaps.

The resulting AAF gives you a ready-made map for cutting backgrounds or starting a conform.

  • Analyze a video and detect its picture edits.
  • Choose straight cuts or any combination of 1–6 frame overlaps.
  • Create a separate pair of alternating tracks for every selection.
  • Export the result as an AAF for your editing session.
